- Lack of concealer under your eyes
I am not going to beat around the bush- as we age our skin gets uneven.
Almost all of us have dark circles under the eyes. Some of us have age or sun spots.
A concealer and a highlighter are a must. Smooth, even toned skin can help you drop ten years!
I wrote how to apply those products in my post “My 10 minute make-up routine” here.
- Eyeshadow matching your outfit
Hello! Isn’t that obvious? That’s why I am not going to write too much about it. Let’s agree that it’s a big NO-NO when you eyeshadow matches your outfit! Blue eyeshadows are also passe.
- Pearl eyeshadows
Forget about pearl/frosted eye shadow, especially under your brows!
- Frosted lipstick
Frosted lipstick – just like the pearl eye shadow –is a big NO-NO! It makes us look older and pale as a ghost. It’s immediately visible that a woman is from a different era 😉
- Black eyeliner
Instead of a black eyeliner, choose grey or brown. It’s all about making you look softer, and black will always make you look harsh. Don’t forget to blend the eyeliner with a brush. And try not to skip using the eyeliner, as it’s a great way to make your eye look more open and to pop.
- Too much blush
Your cheek bones will not be as firm as they used to be, and they will not appear magical no matter how much blush you apply. And you don’t want to look like a clown, do you? 😉
- Lip liner darker than a lipstick
No, no and once again NO! It’s not classy using a lip liner without lipstick, or using a lip liner that is darker than the lipstick. And it simply looks bad.
Summarizing, not wearing make-up is as bad as too much make-up. You should look natural and wear a delicate make-up. It really doesn’t take much effort: a concealer, a foundation, a blush, a lipstick, a mascara and nicely framed eyebrows. That’s it 🙂
