If you visit my blog, then you have probably noticed that I love shirtdresses. I have also written, that a dress is one of my favorite types of clothing. A dress is not only feminine, but also essentially very practical. I love it, because I just open my closet, take it out and I have the perfect outfit. You don’t have to waste your precious time choosing matching clothes, particularly during the morning rush.
A shirt dress is in fact a simple and modest dress, which nicely highlights one’s silhouette. It’s perfect for every day style, and also at work (everything depends on the fabric, color and cut). You can also wear a jacket, blazer, sweater, cardigan, or denim jacket over the dress – the possibilities are unlimited, everything depends on your imagination and personal style.
Why do I like shirt dresses? Probably because I love shirts and this is just a very long shirt. Besides, it’s in fact a very simple and practical dress that nicely highlights one’s silhouette. Some women believe that only a tight and/or short dress highlights the silhouette. Well I definitely disagree with that, as it is very easy to cross the line of elegance and good taste if one wears a too tight and/or short dress. Also all other bodily shortcomings are visible if a woman wears such a dress.
Another argument for a shirt dress, is that I like to have freedom of movement, and the shirt dress gives me that. Additionally, you can wear a shirtdress over pants or leggings. I love such versatile clothes that have many functions depending on how you style them.
A shirtdress doesn’t have to be straight. It can also be in A-line or flared.
