Modern retro

Modern retro is my interpretation of a day dress that pretends to be a vintage dress from the 30s/40s. My favorite fashion style is from the 40s, and I already wrote about it in my post “Modern 1940’s style” (here).

The basis of my wardrobe are cloths in classic cuts and basic colors (like: white and navy), and I also add colors, via accessories and different types of clothes, as well as floral dresses. From time to time, I like to buy something that has  retro/vintage style.

Today I wore such a retro style, floral dress which stole my heart with its color (beautiful peachy orange) and cut. I just couldn’t resist these lovely front buttons!

Over it I put a denim jacket, because this element adds a modern look to every outfit, and also because I didn’t want to look too retro.

Sunnies are kind of like 50s style, so they are a perfect match for such a retro look.

The whole look is pulled together by suede camel pumps and a basket bag.

I am very glad that baskets have been in trend for the last few years, because I am a big fan. I will wear them even when they are not in trend, because they complement my personal style. My personal style is classic cuts, neutral basis, colors and interesting accessories. And this is what I call building a wardrobe: find something that you really like and what will be your trade mark, and stick to it. Style stays, but trends come and go. 🙂

Today I took you for a walk in the area of Wilanow Palace. The magnolias were blooming so beautifully that I wanted to capture it, and they also matched my dress 🙂
