Round-up Week 12
Today I would like to recommend a book that is easy, light and pleasant 🙂 . The author is an American married to a Frenchman who lives in France for over 20 years. This book interested me because it’s written by a mature woman for mature women. It is the the only book for women 40+ that I have found on the Polish market. Tish Jett convinces us that life is never about the numbers and tells us the secrets of Frenchwomen’s attitude towards life. What is the reason that they always look chic, happy with life and self-confident. The recipe is very simple but I will not tell you this recipe – you will just have to read the book yourself, and believe me it is WORTH READING! You can also check Tish’s blog Une Femme d’un Certain Age.
“Forever Chic: Frenchwomen’s Secrets for Timeless Beauty, Style, and Substance” Tish Jett
“For any woman who last saw forty on her speedometer comes a sparkling new primer for aging—the French way—with grace and style. Frenchwomen of a certain age (over forty) are captivating and complex.
They appear younger than their years and remain stylish throughout their lives. They look at birthdays as a celebration of a life well-lived and perhaps a good reason to go shopping before they dress to perfection for a celebration of another anniversary.
American-born journalist and blogger Tish Jett has lived among the French for years and has studied them and stalked them to learn their secrets. Exploring how their wardrobe, beauty, diet, and hair rituals evolve with time and how some aspects of their signature styles never change, Jett shows how Frenchwomen know their strengths, hide their weaknesses, and never talk about their fears, failures, or flaws. After all, in France, beauty, style, and charm have no expiration dates!” – source of picture and description: amazon.com
This week was GOOD because…#smallpleasures #joyoflife
On Tuesday March 22nd I had the pleasure to take part in a „Breakfast with MADAME” organized by the bimonthly magazine „MADAME”.
The special guest was Grazyna Torbicka – a Polish TV Star journalist specialized in movies and theatre. She is as nice in real life as she always appeared to be on the screen. One can listen to her for hours when she talks about the movie festival that she created, the Film and Art Festival Two Riversides. Film and Art Festival Two Riversides is an unique artistic and cultural project destined for enthusiasts of cinema and dedicated to the art of cinema and other forms of art, which contribute to artistic films: literature, music, theatre and the visual arts. Grazyna Torbicka also told us many interesting things about her career, about interviews with famous movie directors and actors, and about her future ideas. I will quote her: “Life doesn’t start after 40, it starts after 50.”
I had to have a picture with Grazyna Torbicka 🙂
There were a lot of interesting women at this breakfast who have realized themselves not only at work, but in many different personal and entrepreneurial areas.
WHY was this week GOOD FOR YOU?
