In Autumn/Winter, I like to tuck myself in a warm sweater, shawl and a coat. I choose natural fabrics such as wool, cashmere or cotton.
Today I combined earth tones with red, which has been my favorite color combination this season (see also my post: here). Earth tones cover all shades of brown, and they look great with red. This color combination is chic and timeless. Moreover, red nicely invigorates the mild earth tones.
Today the lead role is played by my suede pencil skirt. This skirt stole my heart with its beautiful rusty brown color, a belt with golden jets and golden buttons down the front. I have a big weakness for suede, especially for any type of suede shoes.
As a contrast to my pencil skirt, I paired it with a bulky sweater. Truly speaking, even the slimmest person can end up looking BIG if wearing a bulky knit wrongly. The challenge lies in wearing them correctly! There is one simple styling trick that can only be done successfully with a chunky knit and can make any frame look slimmer. How do you look slim wearing a bulky sweater? All you need to do is tuck your sweater in a little at the front and then leave the sides and back out.
Speaking of accessories, I wore suede boots, a red purse, a chunky caramel shawl and caramel gloves. I always wear earrings, and this time I chose one of my favorite golden hoops with hummingbirds. Aren’t they cute?
As an overcoat I chose my favorite houndstooth woolen coat. I like it for its wool, classic cut and colors (red and beige), as most houndstooth fabric is usually black and white.
